2012 CROSS COUNTRY - Was Maryland's top finisher in championship meets at end of the season... Placed 37th overall at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at Penn State, going 21:46 over 6K course... Finished 45th at ACC Championships in 21:57 at Virginia Tech's 6K loop... Individual champion and led Terps to team title at the Blue & Gold Invitational at Delaware... Went 21:32 over 6-kilometer course... First meet of the year was the Lehigh Paul Short Run, where she was third on the team in 22:28.
2011 CROSS COUNTRY - Did not compete.
2010 CROSS COUNTRY - Had top-10 finish to help Maryland to women's team title at the Salty Dog Invitational at Navy... Placed 10th at 23:00.8 over 6K course, running in Terps' No. 2 spot... Also was second on the team at the Lehigh Paul Short Run, finishing 65th overall in 21:46 over 6K course... Placed 85th overall and fourth on the team at the ACC Championships at Boston College, going 22:52.5 over 6K circuit.
BEFORE MARYLAND - Maryland State individual champion in Class 3A, running 20:25 in 3-mile event for Mount Hebron HS... Doubled as state champion in 1,600 (5:08.73) and 3,200 (10:55.18) at outdoor state meet... Won state title in 3,200 indoors as a senior... Won 800, 1600 and 3200 at the Maryland 3A East Region meet... Banneker Key recipient... National Merit Finalist... Maryland Distinguished Scholar Finalist... French NHS President... Faculty Outstanding Senior honoree... 4.0 GPA student throughout high school... Holds school records in 3,200 and 5K... Three-time All-Metro by Baltimore Sun and twice voted All-Met by Washington Post... Howard County Runner of the Year four times... Three-year MVP for cross country and track for Vikings... PERSONAL - Parents are Jeannie and Raymond Yep... Has younger sister, Rachel... Majoring in mechanical engineering with minor in French... Has done volunteer community service with Habitat for Humanity, Our Daily Bread soup kitchen and with Mt. Hebron church group... Says her biggest sports thrill is having "tunnel vision at the end, near the finish"... Chose Maryland over Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and Lehigh and for the engineering program... Plays piano and drums and was named the Outstanding Band Senior... Thinks Sandra Bullock would be perfect to play her in a movie of her life... If she could change anything about her sport, it would be to eliminate soreness after runs.
