Terps Toppled by No. 8 Blue Devils
The Maryland women's tennis team fell Saturday afternoon to No. 8 Duke 7-0.

The Terps (3-6, 0-4 ACC) played their first match since early March against one of the country's most formidable opponents in the Blue Devils (14-2, 2-0). Duke boasts three nationally-ranked singles players and a nationally-ranked doubles team.

Duke swept the doubles point but Maryland's Jordan Hansbrough and Lexi Brand gave the Blue Devil's Monica Gorny and Jessica Stiles all they could handle at No. 2 doubles losing 8-6.

Brand also gave Stiles a fight in the second set of their No. 6 singles match, taking an early lead and challenging Stiles throughout the set before falling 6-1, 6-4.

Maggie MacKeever, playing for just the second time all season at No. 1 singles, faced a tough challenge against Duke's Ellah Nze, ranked No. 36 in the country. She fell 6-2, 6-2.

Up next for the Terps a battle with the nation's No. 1 team and ACC rival North Carolina on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Chapel Hill.
