Terps Fall at ITA All-American

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Junior Ana Belzunce won her first round pre-qualifying singles match Saturday before falling in the round of 32, while Belzunce and sophomore Welma Luus lost in the round of 32 in the pre-qualifying doubles draw at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA)/Riviera Women's All-American Championships.

Belzunce and Luus kicked off the event for the Terps. The pair lost in a tiebreaker to Vanderbilt's Lauren Mira and Jackie Wu, 9-8 (7-4).

Later in the day, Belzunce took the court in singles action against Prang Pantusart of Akron. Belzunce defeated Pantusart in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3 to advance to face Nebraska's Patricia Veresova in the round of 32. Veresova defeated Belzunce, 6-1, 7-5.
