GREENSBORO, N.C. - Two University of Maryland student-athletes earned spots on the 2009 Academic All-Atlantic Coast Conference tennis teams, the league office announced Monday.

Senior Nickolai Nielsen of the Maryland men's team and junior Maggie MacKeever of the women's team earned spots.

For Nielsen, it marked his third-straight appearance on the team, while MacKeever was selected for the second time.

To be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must have an overall grade-point average of 3.0 as well as a 3.0 for each of the last two semesters.

A native of Farnum, Denmark, Nielsen posted 49 career singles victories, including a team-best 12 this past season.

Nielsen also led the team in double victories in 2008-09, going 17-9 with partners David Kwon and Mathias Sarrazin.

MacKeever, who hails from Rockville, Md., had five singles victories and was part of nine doubles wins.
