Baker And Peters Duo Shine
Marianne Baker and Eleanor Peters won their first doubles while Peters grasped a win in the singles at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships.

Baker and Peters competed against Victoria Brymer and Joyce Ardies of Washington in the qualifying doubles round. Baker and Peters had a stellar performance, clinching their first win of the tournament as a duo, 8-5.

In the second round of the tournament, Baker and Peters faced Lindsey Nelson and Dianne Matias of Southern California. The duo from Maryland came to play, falling in a close set, 9-8(4).

Baker also played a singles match in the qualifying round. She faced Kellie Schmitt of Marshall but fell, 7-6 (4), 6-0. Baker went on to play a consolation backdraw match against Mikola Dimitrova of UNLV. Baker easily took the match in two sets, 6-1, 6-2.

Baker and Peters will continue to battle it out at the Riviera Tournament tomorrow.
