BLACKSBURG, Va. -
One day after defeating host Virginia Tech 4-3, University of Maryland's women's tennis team fell by the same margin in a neutral-site battle with Ohio State on Saturday.
The Terps are now 8-3 on the season. Ohio State improved to 8-2.
Maryland secured all of its scoring in singles play, with victories by Marta Jedrzejak, Jennifer Dent and Chloe Chavardes. Jedrzejak and Chavardes both posted straight-set victories, wile Dent overcame a 6-2 first-set setback for her victory.
The Terps captured the matchup at No. 1 doubles behind the play of Emily Marker and Ramona But, who posted an 8-3 win over Lindsay Williams and Sadhaf Pervez. Ohio State, however, captured the doubles point for the 10th consecutive match by winning matchups at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Maryland is in action next Sunday, March 16 when it takes on William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va.
