COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's tennis team, which is ranked No. 67 nationally, will play host to No. 7 Georgia Tech at 3 p.m. Friday and then to No. 8 Clemson at 10 a.m. Sunday. Both matches will take place at the Tennis Center at College Park.
The Terps are coming off of a 4-3 loss to Princeton last Sunday. Maryland won the doubles portion of that match with victories from the duo of Eleanor Peters and Marianne Baker and freshmen Lisa Miller and Elyse Steiner. But the Terps went on to drop four of the six singles matches.
Maryland is currently 7-4 and 1-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference after its win over Boston College last month.
Baker is currently ranked No. 116 nationally in singles play, while Peters is ranked No. 120.
Clemson and Georgia Tech faced each other last weekend. The Tigers defeated the Yellow Jackets, 4-3, to improve to 9-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. Georgia Tech fell to 7-4 and 0-1 in the conference.
