Terps Finish Fall Season Play At St. Mary's Women's Fall Tennis Classic

KNOXVILLE, Tenn-- The University of Maryland women's tennis team concluded day three of competition at the St. Mary's Women's Fall Tennis Classic. The Terps return home with two singles titles; freshman Jennifer Dent (Safety Harbor, Fla.) won Flight Five and Romona But (Timisoara, Romania) claimed Flight Six.

Junior Emily Marker (Ann Arbor, Mich.) earned fourth place in Flight One. Teammate Delila Causevic (Sarajevo, Bosnia) defeated Purdue's Gretchen Haynor, 6-3, 6-4 to finish in third place in her draw.

Senior Marta Jedrzejak (Sieradz, Poland) also finished the tournament in fourth place, dropping to UNC's Kendall Cline in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. Freshman Andreaa Fusea (Bucharest, Romania) placed in seventh place; she defeated Lyndsey Shosho (G.T.), 6-2, 6-4 in the consolation match.

In Flight Five, Dent downed fellow Terp, Chloe Chavardes (St. Nomlabreteche, France), 6-2, 6-2 to win the draw. But won the Flight Six title after battling Purdue's Shawna Zuccarini to three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 6-0.
