CHESTNUT HILL, Mass - Senior Vroni Van Berlo dug out of an early hole to defeat 116 -ranked Jessica Wacnik to remain undefeated in singles this season, but Boston College edged the Maryland women's tennis team, 4-3, Friday night.

The Terrapins started off strong, taking an early leads by winning doubles, but could not pull out a couple close singles contests needed to secure the match.

Van Berlo and Sarah Gealer and Gabriela Srodowski, who had earlier combined to win in doubles, and Olga Gaistruk, all lost tightly contested matches.

Maryland gets right back on court Saturday against Harvard. Play is scheduled to begin at noon.
