CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Facing its second top-ten opponent this weekend, Maryland fell to the nation's top-ranked Tar Heels on the road 7-0 Sunday afternoon.

The Terps (3-7, 0-5 ACC) faced their toughest weekend of competition this season, but the Tar Heels (16-3, 3-0 ACC) were too much to handle and Maryland dropped its second straight match.

Doubles continued to be a bright spot for Maryland, however, as both Maggie MacKeever and Lisa Miller, as well as Julia Huschke and Burce Kurkan, gave North Carolina's Sanaz Marand and Gina Suarez-Malaguti, and Jocelyn Ffriend and Haley Hemm tough fights in both No. 1 and No. 3 doubles respectively.

Maryland returns to College Park this week for two conference match-ups. Thursday the Terps will play host to Clemson at 2:30 p.m, and Saturday they will face Georgia Tech at 11 a.m. at the Tennis Center at College Park.
