STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Junior Sean Bodosh and sophomore Ben Warnquist both finished eight-over 221 and tied for fourth at the Rutherford Intercollegiate over the weekend. Bosdosh (77-69-77) tied his lowest round of the year on Saturday when he carded a 69, while Warnquist (76-73-72) recorded his best three-round score of the year.
Maryland started the day in first place, but fell to fifth in the final round and shot an 897 (302-287-308) overall. The Terps finished seven strokes behind a charging Binghamton team that matched the team’s tournament-low round of 287 today.Freshman Tom Harris finished with a 12-over 225 (74-72-79) and tied for 17th at the event.
Binghamton University took home the team title, shooting an 890 (302-301-287) and finishing five strokes ahead of the second place Xavier team (304-297-294). Xavier’s Tanapol Vattanapisit captured the individual victory in a playoff against Penn State’s JD Dornes. Vattanapisit finished the weekend with a three-over 216 (73-73-70).
The Terps will now shift their focus to the upcoming ACC Championships, running from April 26-28 in New London, N.C. A tournament preview will be posted in the days leading up to the event this weekend.
