Had Maryland's low 18-hole score of the fall with a 67 in both the first and second rounds of the Xavier Invitational... He finished 6th individually (67-67-73--207) with a 9-under par total for 54 holes... Also had a top-20 finish with a T12th to lead Maryland at the VCU/Mattaponi Springs Shootout (70-71-73--214), where he finished 2-under over 54 holes... Second on the team at the Landfall Tradition with a T38 finish (78-82-76--236).
Spring 2006: Finished the entire 2005-06 season third on the team with a 74.2 scoring average, with 26 of his 29 (.897) rounds counting toward the Terps' team score... Solid player who, for the second straight year, was in the lineup for all Maryland's competitive events... Eight of his 29 rounds were at or better than par... Led Maryland with a T5th placing at the William & Mary Invitational (even-par 71)... Best 18 holes of the spring came in the second round of the Cavalier Classic, where he shot a 68... Maryland ended up with the team title in Charlottesville, as Witman tied for 18th (79-68-77--224)... Had rounds of 74-71-75--220 to tie for 35th individually at the ACC Championships... Tied for team-best honors at the NCAA East Regional, where he tied for 90th at 77-77-76--230... Other top-20 came at the Bridgestone Golf Intercollegiate (T13th, 73-74--147).
Fall 2005: Third on the team in scoring average for the fall at 74.0 with 10 of his 11 (.909) rounds counting toward the team total... Best 18 holes of the fall came with a blistering second-round 66 at the Mid Pines Intercollegiate that started the season... Led Maryland with a T5th finish (72-66-71--209), which was 7-under-par... Also had a top-20 finish with a T14 in the rain-shortened Georgetown Hoya Invitational, where he shot a 74-72--146.
Spring 2005: Finished the 2004-05 season and the spring semester in fourth on the team in scoring average... Posted a 75.1 average through the year and was one of only two Terps who played all 36 rounds for the team... 29 of his 36 (.806) rounds counted toward the team total... Seven of his rounds for the year were at par or better... Best finish of the spring was a T8th at the Cavalier Classic, which led Maryland at that event (76-76-74--226)... Also posted a T9th at the Princeton Invitational (74-73-72--219)... Finished T44th at the ACC Championships (78-80-78--236) and fourth on the team... Also fourth on the team and T116th individually at the NCAA East Regional in Nashville (79-77-74--230).
Fall 2004: Possibly the most improved player on the Maryland team from the spring to the fall... Won his first collegiate tournament with medalist honors at The McLaughlin, held at Bethpage State Park's Red Course... Shot 71-71-70 for 2-over-par total of 212 to beat teammate Matt Schall by one shot... Terps won the team title with 853 total, including 277 in final round... Also led Maryland with T2nd finish at the Georgetown Hoya Invitational, shooting 70-72 for 2-under-par 142 total... Finished fall season with 72.7 scoring average, with 11 of his 13 rounds counting toward team total... Third top-20 finish of the fall was at the Rutgers Invitational, where his 72-75--147 tied for 18th.
Spring 2004: Played in four events early in the spring season, finishing the spring with a 76.4 scoring average... Best individual finish was a T3rd in the rain-shortened Rehoboth Beach Spring Invitational, where he shot a 2-over-par 74 to help the Terps win the team title... Best round of the spring was a 71 in the opening round of the LSU Spring Invitational... He was Terps' low scorer with T42nd finish (71-75-74--220), which also marked his best 54-hole total of the spring... Finished the 2003-04 season with 76.7 scoring average over 15 rounds, with 10 of the 15 counting toward team score.
Fall 2003: Played in first two events of the fall as a true freshman at Maryland... opened second among Terrapin finishers with T23 finish at the Cleveland Golf / Kiawah Island Intercollegiate... first round as a collegian was opening-round 71 at Turtle Point GC, finished with 71-77--148... next event was at James Madison Invitational, where his best score was a second-round 77... scoring average was 77.2 in five fall rounds.
Before Maryland: Two-time Delaware state high school champion, winning in 2001 and 2003... named Delaware State High School Player of the Year each time... first team All-State player all four seasons at Cape Henlopen HS in Lewes, Del... also won Henlopen Conference title and was team MVP as a sophomore.
