Terps travel to Delaware for Rehoboth Beach Fall Invite

Sept. 24, 2010

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland men's golf team will travel north for its third fall tournament of the season at the Rehoboth Beach Fall Invite in Rehoboth Beach, Del., on Monday.

The Terps will try and capitalize on their success from one weekend ago, when they earned their first top-five finish of the season at the Maryland Intercollegiate in Cambridge, Md. Maryland was led by Junior John Popeck and freshman Sean Bodosh, who both finished with a score of 216, good enough for 17th. Junior Joey Rice placed in a tie for 19th with an overall score of 217 to round out the trio of Terps to finish in the top-20.

Led by head coach Tom Hanna, Maryland returns all of its starters from last season, while adding several key contributors including Sean Bodosh and his brother Stephen, a junior transfer from Montgomery College.

In 2009, the Terps won the Rehoboth Beach Fall Invite for the second consecutive season thanks, in part, to Popeck who led Maryland with a second-place finish, with a one-under-par score of 141.

In October, the Terps will wrap up their fall season by competing in two two-day tournaments. Maryland will head south to Raliegh, N.C., for the Wolfpack Intercollegiate starting on October 4. The following week, the Terps will finish the season at the Firestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio.
