Bosdosh Wins Firestone Invitational

AKRON, Ohio - Sean Bosdosh shot a final-round 2-under par 70 to finish 5-under at the Firestone Invitational and claim the individual title by one stroke.

Bosdosh, who also won the VCU Shootout two weeks ago, beat Ball State's Tyler Merkel by a stroke. The junior shot a 3-under 69 on the tournament's opening 18 holes and was tied for third, but surpassed Merkel and South Carolina-Aiken's Matt Atkins for the title with his final-round 70.

With a 590 (296-294), Maryland finished tied for seventh as a team. Ball State won the team title with a 7-under 569 (282-287), 13 strokes clear of second place St. Mary's (CA).

Ben Warnquist was the second best finisher for the Terps with a 4-over 148 (75-73), followed by Jordan Sweet (74-78--152) and Andrew McCain (78-76--154).
