The Terrapins were two of 15 players at the top of the GCAA's Individual Ranking System. At least 15 players were selected in nine regions. Penn State had four selections in the Mid-Atlantic Region, while St. John's joined the Terps with two players on the team.
Gold's selection is his second in as many years, joining former Terps John Eades and Tyler Witman as two-time All-Region honorees since 2003. Shin is the first Terrapin freshman honored with an All Mid-Atlantic award.
Earlier this year, Gold became the first Maryland player in six years to earn All-Atlantic Coast Conference recognition. The junior from Haddonfield, N.J., led the Terrapins in scoring average (73.1), rounds in the 60s (4), top-10 finishes (4), top-20 finishes (7) and won three individual events - Adams Cup of Newport, Cuthbert Cup and the George Washington Invitational.
Shin, a freshman from nearby Columbia, Md., was Maryland's most consistent performer this season. He finished second on the team in scoring average at 74.3 and 94 percent of his rounds counted toward the team total, despite his low 18-hole total of the year being a 70. Ten of his 32 full rounds this season were at or under par.
