RALEIGH, N.C. - The University of Maryland men's golf team will seek back-to-back tournament wins in the fall season Oct. 4 as the Terps travel to Raleigh, N.C. to participate in the Wolfpack Intercollegiate.
Hosted by North Carolina State, the Wolfpack Intercollegiate will be held at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course, voted as the No. 22 on-campus collegiate golf course.
Led by sophomore John Popeck's invite-best 33 on the final nine holes, Maryland claimed its third Rehoboth Beach Invitational title in the past three years. The Terps ended the tournament with a final score of 281, 14 strokes ahead of second place Penn.
Sixteen other schools will compete in the Wolfpack Intercollegiate: UALR, NC State, Campbell, Duke, Francis Marion, George Mason, Georgia State, Memphis, Navy, Rhode Island, UNCW, VCU, Wake Forest and Western Carolina.
The tournament will begin Monday at 8 a.m. CDT with teams playing 36 holes. On Tuesday, play will resume with 18 holes via shotgun formation.
Following the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, Maryland's men's golf team will finish its fall season at the Firestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio on Oct. 12.
