Men's Golf in Seventh at Memphis Intercollegiate

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Sophomore John Popeck shot 5 over par through the first two rounds Monday at the Memphis Intercollegiate, leading all Maryland men's golfers at Colonial Country Club, as the Terrapins finished the day in seventh place.

Popeck was one of only two Maryland golfers to finish his second round, as darkness ended play early. Popeck shot 75 and 74, respectively, on the par-72 course. Andrew Kay finished the day at 8 over par, shooting 78 in the first round before knocking off four strokes in his second round.

Tom Hanna III, Joey Rice and Sean Brannan will finish their second rounds beginning Tuesday at 8 a.m. and will then play the final 18 holes of the tournament. Hanna III and Brannan each shot 78 in the first round, while Rice carded an 80.
