COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland men's golf team is preparing for the 2011 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, which begins Friday in New London, N.C.

The tournament will begin Friday morning and run through Sunday, April 24. The Terps and the conference's 10 other squads will compete in 54 total holes at the Old State North Club's par-72, course.

Maryland and Florida State will tee off as a part of the first group on Fridayat 8 a.m. North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech will follow at 8:40, with the trio of NC State, Boston College and Wake Forest at 9:40. Defending champion Georgia Tech, Clemson and Duke will round out the field at 10:40.

The Terps will bring a balanced team to the conference championship this weekend. In five events this spring, Maryland has been led by four different student-athletes (Sean Bosdosh, William Wiseman, Sean Brannan and Joey Rice).

Rice most recently led the Terps to a sixth-place finish at the Wolfpack Spring Open, where he tied for seventh with a four-over 146 over two rounds.

Wiseman has held the top team score twice this spring, at both the C&F Bank Intercollegiate, where he tied for fourth, and the River Landing Intercollegiate, where he finished tied for 19th.

Bosdosh and Brannan have also combined for a pair of team-leading scores. Bosdosh tied for 32nd at the spring-opening Cleveland Golf Intercollegiate while Brannan earned top team honors at the Penn Quaker Invitational with his seventh-place finish.

Tom Hanna III rounds out the Maryland starting five and provides experience and seniority to the Terrapin squad. The Bozman, Md., native is one of just three seniors on the squad and had his best outing at the Rehoboth Beach Fall Invitational, where he tied for second with a one-under 70.

In last year's conference event, Maryland shot a three-round 878 (290-289-299) and tied for ninth.

Live scoring and free web streams, beginning on Saturday, will be available at TheACC.com.
