WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William Wiseman hit a team-best par 72 and the University of Maryland men's golf team ended Monday tied for 15th at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary.
Wiseman used a one-under 35 on the back nine of Monday's round-one action to lead the Terps and tie for 18th individually. Tied at 48th, Joey Rice finished with a two-over 76 and two strokes behind Rice was Sean Brannan at 78. Tom Hanna III and Sean Bosdosh both remain tied for 85th at 79.
James Madison's Chris Wellde is in first overall with a five-under 67 while Delaware's Justin Martinson (68) and Binghamton's Jake Katz (69) round out the tournament's top-three individuals.
As a team, the Terrapins hit 305 and are tied with Georgetown, Canisius and Saint Joseph's for 15th out of 24 teams.
James Madison leads the team race with a seven-under 281 after Day One. UNC Greensboro is in second at 287 while USC Upstate is in third at 291.
The Terps will resume action Tuesday morning with the final 18 holes of the C&F Bank Intercollegiate.
