Nathan Leads Terps at Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Kyle Nathan led University of Maryland golfers with a 37th-place finish, while Tyler Witman sparked the Terrapins with a final-round 76 on Sunday at the Landfall Tradition men's golf tournament hosted by UNC Wilmington.

The event was held at the Country Club of Landfall's Marsh-Ocean Course.

Nathan finished the 54-hole event with a 235 total, closing the tournament with a 78 on Sunday. Witman had his best round of the event with a 4-over-par 76 on Sunday, finishing one shot behind Nathan in a tie for 38th.

As a team, Maryland was in 11th place in a strong field. Tulsa won the team event, with its total of 868 placing 26 strokes better than second-place Xavier.

Also for Maryland, Matt Schall finished with a 237 total and a tie for 43rd, Hunter Bendall tied for 49th at 238 and Tully Coyle finished with a 253 total.

Nicolas Geyger and Mitch Cohlmia of Tulsa were the individual champions, each finishing at 1-under-par 215. Brett Myers was third for the Hurricanes three strokes behind.

The event finished the fall season for the Maryland men.
