TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Senior Dan MacDonald shot a final-round 75 to pace Maryland's men's golf team Tuesday at the Seminole Intercollegiate Tournament hosted by Florida State at the Golden Eagle Country Club.
MacDonald (Plandome, N.Y.) fired his 3-over-par 75, which moved him into a tie for 31st individually with a 232 total in the event, the Terrapins' first of the spring season.
Sophomore John Eades (Charlotte, N.C.) was the best individual finisher for Maryland, placing in a tie for 18th at 226 over the 54-hole tournament. Eades shot an 80 in Tuesday's third round.
As a team, Maryland finished 11th after shooting 311 on Tuesday. The Terrapins posted a 933 team total over the three rounds. Georgia State, which shot 293 on Tuesday, won the team competition at 884, five shots better than UCF.
Tigh VanLeeuwen of UAB won a playoff to earn individual medalist honors, finishing at 2-under-par 214. Second-round leader Kellen Altman of the College of Charleston also fired a 214.
Maryland returns to action March 13 and 14 at the Birkdale Intercollegiate in Charlotte, N.C.
