The next "Top Terp Moment" of the 2003-04 year came when the men's golf team captured the team title at The McLaughlin golf tournament held at Bethpage Red. Paced by Dan MacDonald's final round 65, the Terps defeated four other schools en route to the title. Maryland was the only team to finish the three-round event under par.
MacDonald's three-round total of 203 was also good enough to claim the individual title by a stroke over Temple's Bill Mullen. Maryland's Tim Kane finished third firing with a 206 total.
Maryland would go on to win another tournament in the spring (Rehobeth Beach Spring Invitational).
Below is the entire recap and scores from the Terps' memorable win at the McLaughlin.
