AIKEN, S.C. - Sean Brannan and William Wiseman both hit 148's through Monday and the Maryland men's golf team finished Day One action tied in the top-15 at the 14th Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational.
Brannan and Wiseman each used scores of 73 and 75 to finish the first day of action at plus-eight, tied for 44th overall.
Behind Brannan and Wiseman, freshman Sean Bosdosh hit a 74 in the second round to jump just one stroke back of Maryland's leaders. Seniors Tom Hanna III and Joey Rice round out the Terrapins at 151 and 157, respectively.
Bud Cauley of Alabama leads the pack with an 8-under 132. Liberty's Preston Dembowiak, Clemson's Crawford Reeves and East Carolina's Harold Varner are all tied for second with scores of 138 after Day One.
At 565 overall, Alabama is first in the team race while the Flames of Liberty are just four strokes back and in second. Maryland's conference rivals, the Virginia Cavaliers and Clemson Tigers are tied for third at 571.
The Terps and head coach Tom Hanna will look to advance in the standings Tuesday morning in the tournament's third and final day.
