REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - Led by sophomore John Popeck's invite-best 33 on the final nine, the University of Maryland men's golf team claimed its third Rehoboth Beach Invitational title in the past three years. Popeck ended Monday's one-day event, which was cut from 36 holes to 18 due to inclement weather, atop the leader board at 2-under-par.

The Terps finished in first place with an overall score of 281, 14 strokes in front of host Penn. Iona (299) finished in third place, while Mount St. Mary's (301) claimed fourth.

Behind Popeck, Maryland received strong support from its entire team. Senior Tom Hanna III finished in a three-way tie for second, at one-under-par for 70. Junior Joey Rice and freshman Sean Bodosh each shot 71 to tie for fifth. Freshman transfer William Wiseman carded a 73 to finish in a three-way tie for 10th overall. Junior Sean Brannan rounded out the Terps' team win tied for 24th, at 5-over-par.
