CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - After the first day of the Cavalier Classic, the Maryland men's golf team sits tied for ninth place overall, led by Brendan Tracy and his even-par round of 72. Tracy is tied for 14th individually. Maryland shot a combined 298, just two strokes out of fifth place and eleven behind the leader, South Carolina.

Tom Hanna III shot a 77, leaving him tied for 59th overall. Meanwhile, Andrew Kay's round of 78 left him tied for 67th place.
