COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Redshirt junior Laurin Mincy and senior Alyssa Thomas of the No. 8 Maryland women’s basketball team (4-1) were two of 50 players in the country named to the Naismith Early Season Watch List Monday.
This is the third straight year Thomas has made the list and second for Mincy.
Thomas is currently leading the Terrapins in scoring with 14.2 points per game and in rebounding with 11.0 per contest. She’s picked up four straight double-doubles in the Terps’ first five games. Mincy is averaging 9.3 points per game and 4.0 boards as she makes her return from a torn ACL suffered last November. She picked up 14 points with seven rebounds at Towson Satuday night.
The Terrapins welcome Drexel Monday at 7 p.m. and will host a pregame food drive. All fans are asked to bring non-perishable food items to donate.

After Monday’s matchup, the Maryland will head to Puerto Rico for the San Juan Shootout over the weekend. The Terps will take on Texas Southern Friday at 4:30 p.m. and Ohio University Saturday at 2 p.m. Both games can be heard on umterps.com and live updates will be available at the team’s twitter account. After their trip to San Juan, the Terrapins will host Ohio State Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
