Before Maryland: An accomplished five-time letterwinner in softball at Shrewsbury High School in Shrewsbury, Mass., having played on the varsity squad since the eighth grade ... garnered league MVP honors as a junior and collected all-star accolades all five seasons ... was selected team MVP as a sophomore and junior and named team captain as a senior ... cited an all-star by the Telegram & Gazette as a sophomore and named to the newspaper's "super team" as a junior and senior ... posted a 0.37 ERA as a senior and tossed one perfect game ... played summer softball with the Worcester Polar Crush.
