As a senior (2012): Saw action in 40 games and started in 33...saw most of her time in the outfield or as the designated plater...hit 213 on the year with 17 hits, 10 RBI, five runs, 19 walks and a home run...wnet 2-for-4 vs. No. 11 Michigan with a run scored (Feb. 17)...hit two doubles to bring in an RBI vs. Kent State (March 11)...brought in two RBI vs. Delaware State (April 25)...went 2-for-2 in Terps' 10-inning win over No. 19 Florida State (May 6)...hit first career home run vs. Virginia Tech in ACC Tournament (May 10).

As a junior (2011): Saw action in 20 games and started in eight...shared time as catcher, pinch hitter or runner, and right field...had five hits and scored two runs for .208 batting average...went 2-for-3 vs. Illinois State (Feb. 12)...took over behind the plate in top of the first of ACC Semifinal game vs. North Carolina when an injury sidelined Mallory (May 14).

Redshirted 2010 season.

Before Maryland: Played 2008 and 2009 seasons at Community College of Baltimore County in Catonsville...averaged .328 at the plate in those two seasons...named All-Region First Team both 2008, team went to 2009, named All-Maryland JUCO and All-Region First Team...played four years of varsity softball at Archbishop Spalding...named First Team All-Metro all four years, as well as First Team All-County...hit .426 in her went to IAAM championships in 2004 and won in 2006...played at Wagner's and Maryland went to National every year...named an All-Star in the tournament.

Personal: Sloane Van Meter...parents are Stephen and Kimberly Van Meter...father played baseball at Towson...has two sisters, Jennifer and a certified scuba diver...came to Maryland for the education...would love to open a dog retreat...communications major.
