Carolyn Desrochers enters the 2009 campaign serving as team manager. A sophomore at the University of Maryland who was a member of the Terrapins' 2008 softball squad, Desrochers is in her first season in her current capacity.
Desrochers provides leadership for the softball team, serving as a liasion between the players and the coaching staff. As a Terp freshman in 2008, she appeared in the team's 17-1 win over George Washington on April 23 as a pinch hitter, driving in a run on a sacrifice fly in her only plate appearance.
Prior to arriving in College Park, Desrochers earned three varsity letters in softball at Cherry Hill East High School in Cherry Hill, N.J. There she garnered softball offensive player of the year honors as a senior and received the Joseph A. Capella Memorial Scholarship for her contributions in softball and in the community. While at Cherry Hill East, Desrochers participated in both the South Jersey Coaches and the Camden County all-star games. She also lettered twice in soccer and once in basketball.
In addition to serving as softball team manager, Desrochers currently is pursuing a civil and environmental engineering degree at Maryland.
