COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland softball team plays host to Florida State with a three-game series starting with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. The first game of the doubleheader is being broadcast on ACCSelect.com. The series finale is being broadcast live on CBS College Sports (formerly CSTV) on Sunday at noon. The Terps come in 25-9, 1-5 in ACC play, while Florida State comes in 30-13, 6-3 in conference play.
The Terps come in after sweeping Delaware State on Wednesday, 2-0 and 4-1. Junior Sarah Dooley pitched a one-hit shutout in the first game and sophomore Lindsey Wright pitched a three-hit complete game in the second. Senior Sarde Stewart hit her team-leading fifth home run of the season to propel the Terps in the night-cap.
The Seminoles are lead by pitcher Tiffany McDonald, who leads the team with a 1.01 ERA and is third best in the ACC. Florida State leads the all-time series, 34-6, and has won the past six meetings between the two schools.
