COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland softball doubleheader slated for Wednesday at Towson is cancelled due to inclement weather. The Terrapins (13-8), who will attempt to schedule a make-up date later this season with the Tigers, now gear up for the Georgia Tech Buzz Classic this Friday-Sunday which begins their Spring Break trip.
The Terrapins are winners of their last four games after doubleheader sweeps of Delaware and LaSalle last week. In addition to tremendous performances by the Terp seniors, freshman Lauren Pollock (Severna Park, Md.) went 5-for-11 (.455) with a double and two RBI, while rookie hurler Jessica Aditays (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was credited with Game 2's victory over the Blue Hens.
The Terps open the Buzz Classic in Marietta, Ga., with Friday match-ups against Michigan State and Georgia State. Maryland faced both earlier this season at the Speedline Invitational March 7-9, downing the Spartans 2-1 before falling, 4-3, to the Lady Panthers.
