COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland softball team travels to Boston College Saturday to face off against the Eagles in its final series of the regular season, starting with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. The series concludes on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Terps come in 35-19 on the season and 6-12 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. On Wednesday at Towson, senior Jenny Belak broke the all-times hit record at Maryland of 212, formerly held by Kelly Shipman. Belak now has four school records including hits with 214, stolen bases with 57, triples with 12 and at-bats with 739.
Wednesday's 12-3 win over Towson was head coach Laura Watten's 100th win at Maryland. Watten is 100-72 at Maryland in three years and 422-279 in 11 seasons overall.
The Eagles come into the series with a record of 29-29 and 5-13 in ACC play. BC is led by Renee Ramos, who is batting .340 with nine home runs and 43 RBI. The Terps will most likely face Allison Gage, who is 16-17 with a 2.71 ERA and Taylor Peyton, who is 13-11 with a 3.05 ERA.
The Terps play host to the ACC softball tournament at Robert E. Taylor Stadium May 8-11. For more information visit here.
