COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland softball team heads north Wednesday to University Park, Pa. to face Penn State in a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. The Terps (30-12) come in currently holding a six-game non-conference winning streak.

Senior Jenny Belak, who leads the Terps with a .362 batting average, is just six hits shy of tying Kelly Shipman's school record for career hits. Belak has already broken three school records this season in career triples, stolen bases and at-bats.

Penn State comes in with a record of 28-15 on the season. Danielle Kinley leads the Nittany Lions with a .383 average and Ashley Esparza and Desi Giordano lead the team with five home runs each. Esparza and Jackie Hill lead a Penn State pitching staff that has a combined 1.76 ERA with 276 strikeouts.

The Nittany Lions lead the all-time series, 6-1, with the only Terrapin victory coming in 2002. Penn State swept a doubleheader in College Park, Md. last year, 6-0 and 4-3.

Both games will be available via Gametracker. The Terps return to Atlantic Coast Conference play this weekend when they play host to Virginia in a doubleheader starting Saturday at 1 p.m.
