College Park, Md. - Senior hurler Amanda Bettker (St. Petersburg, Fla.) shut out ACC Tournament champion Georgia Tech in seven innings of work to earn a spot on the all-tournament team. Bettker fanned six and received a no decision in Maryland's 1-0 extra inning loss Friday to the Yellow Jackets.
Bettker (14-11) led the Terrapin staff with a 1.25 ERA and 153 strikeouts on the season. The senior ends her career at Maryland placing second only to former stand-out Kelly Shipman in the all-time record books in wins (57), ERA (1.61), innings pitched (657), strikeouts (546), and shutouts (25).
Bettker also received All-ACC Tournament honors last season along with former teammate Michelle Burrell when the duo led the Terps to a third place finish in the 2001 tournament.
