Terps Drop USF Finale to Big Green

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Maryland softball team dropped its final game in the USF Under Armour Invitational in a 4-0 loss to Dartmouth Sunday.

Freshman Maddie Martin pitched a complete game with six hits and three earned runs allowed, but the Terrapins (11-16) couldn't get runs on the board.

Dartmouth's Hillary Hubert and Morgan McCalmon each singled to put two on the board in the bottom of the third. McCalmon hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to make it 4-0.

Sara Acosta, Nikki Maier, Shannon Bustillos and Lexi Carroll each had hits for the Terps' offense.

Next, the Terrapins will return home to open ACC play vs. Virginia (9-10, 1-2 ACC) next weekend. The Terps and the Cavaliers will play a doubleheader on March 23 at 1 p.m. and a single game at 1 p.m. on March 24. Admission is free.
