AS A REDSHIRT SENIOR (2017): Lead the team in the circle in ERA (3.57), strikeouts (70) and innings pitched (160.2)...earned six of the team's wins as the pitcher of record, while notching four saves in relief...instrumental in Maryland's win over Florida, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a run and RBI while earning the save in the 4-2 victory (2/18)...hit .583 for the weekend overall at the Aquafina Invitational and tallied 5 strikeouts from the circle (2/18)....threw a one-hitter complete game in 3-0 victory on  against Bowling Green (2/24)...with two outs, Martin hit an RBI single making the score 2-0 against Stephen F. Austin (3/4)...pitched a scoreless five innings and re-entered in the seventh to hold Missouri scoreless in nine-inning, 9-8 win (3/5)...earned the save in the team's upset win over  Michigan (4/1)...clutch in win over Northwestern recording a strikeout the end the frame with runners in scoring position in the fourth, fifth and sixth inning (4/9)...voted as the team's Most Valuable Player of the Year.

AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2016): Appeared in 35 games, making nine starts in the batting order and ten starts in the circle...pitched in 32 games to a 4.59 ERA with 60 strikeouts in 87 innings and two wins...led team in ERA (4.59), opposing batting average (.282) and strikeouts (60)...started each game of the Kajikawa Classic, three games in the DP slot and two at first base...knocked RBI single against No. 6 Oregon (2/13)...pitched 1.2 scoreless frames in relief against Utah State (2/14)...started off fantastic two weeks in the circle in two appearances at Panther Invitational (2/19-20) with two innings of scoreless softball against a potent offensive team in No. 5 Alabama (2/19) before hurling 2.2 innings of one run ball while fanning three against Mercer (2/20)...starred at FAU Invitational (2/26-28), pitching in all five games accumulating 21.1 innings while only allowing three earned runs and fanning 23, good for a 0.99 ERA...earned first win in first start of season against Boston (2/26), allowing one run in six innings while striking out six...followed that up with five innings of scoreless softball in relief against Columbia (2/27), adding six strikeouts and recording a single at the plate...pitched four innings in relief during thrilling extra inning win over Florida Atlantic (2/27), allowing one earned run and punching out four, while adding a hit at the plate...added another four strikeouts in five innings against Stony Brook (2/28) to cap off the weekend...reached ERA low point (1.70) after 4.2 innings of one run ball against Georgetown (3/4)...threw two combined innings against BYU and Oklahoma in home state (3/11-12)...hurled complete game in walk-off loss to Ohio State (3/26), only allowing three hits over 6.1 innings while striking out four...earned first Big Ten win in series opener against Nebraska (4/1), allowing three runs over five innings and fanning four...pitched 2.2 innings in second game of St. Francis doubleheader (4/5), only allowing one hit and two baserunners...appeared in relief against Penn State in all three games of series (4/15-17) middle game against Penn State (4/16), hurled 2.1 innings of hitless softball.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2014): Appeared in 21 games (20 starts), notching a .268 batting average with seven RBIs and six runs...also appeared in 17 games in the circle with four starts, striking out 22 batters in 40.0 innings...stepped in as team's designated hitter during second half of season, batting .357 over the final 10 games...struck out three batters and allowed two earned runs in 3.0 innings of season debut on mound against DePaul (2/7)...posted first collegiate hit and RBI against Georgia Tech (3/15), finishing with three hits in the game....allowed just one earned run and three hits in 4.0 innings against Syrcause (4/2), and scored the game-winning run...hit a double to the fence against Delaware State (4/16)...allowed just two earned runs in 5.1 innings and went 2-for-3 with a run in game two against Virginia Tech (4/19)...knocked in pair of RBIs and allowed just one earned run in 3.0 innings against Virginia Tech (4/20)...hit first home run of career against Howard (4/23), knocking in four runs in the series...went 2-for-3 with two runs and a double in game two against Pitt (5/4), while allowing just one earned run in 4.2 innings of relief work.

AS A FRESHMAN (2013): Saw action in 37 games and started 26 on the mound…pitched 127.1 innings and garnered a 12-10 record…tied for team lead with nine complete games…second on team in appearances (37), wins (12), ERA (4.07)…ninth in ACC in strikeouts (86)…made first career start versus LIU-Brooklyn (2/17), earning the complete game victory…made first relief appearance against UCLA (2/23)…pitched five consecutive complete games from Mar. 12 – Mar. 23...pitched complete game and struck out seven batters in 1-0 loss to Oklahoma State (3/15)…pitched first career complete game shutout in seven-inning victory against Valparaiso (3/16)…won four consecutive starts from Mar. 23 – Mar. 30…earned complete game shutout in victory over Howard (3/27)…struck out career-high 10 batters versus Coppin State (4/3)…allowed just one run six innings in victory over North Carolina (4/27)…gave up zero runs in three innings of work in ACC Tournament against Virginia Tech (5/9).

Before Maryland: Played at Edmond Santa Fe High School for Rhonda Lawson...was a pitcher and went 34-9 overall and advance to Oklahoma state semifinals in her senior year (2012)...went 26-5 on the mound with an ERA of 1.75, 200 strikeouts, a .348 average at the plate and 36 RBI that year...named The Oklahoman's All-Big City Player of the Year, All-District Player of the Year and an All-State First Team pitcher...named All-Edmond Player of the Year, All-Vype West pitcher...earned the Ferguson Jenkins Student-Athlete award and was named a March of Dimes Top 3 Outstanding Athlete...graduated with a GPA of 3.8...played club softball for the Tulsa Eagles Gold for Dave Simmons and Tommy Rogers...led team in home runs in junior and seniors summers and hit over .400 in those years as well...planned events for a marketing class, including the Heather Harkness Memorial Volleyball Tournament and was active in Youth in Government.

Personal: Madison Nicole Martin...parents are Toby and Amie Martin...has one younger brother, Jake...has many superstitions...came to Maryland for the softball team, diversity and family environment...lists sports hero as Derek Jeter...advice to young players is, "give your all and play for the love of the game"...pursuing MS in supply chain management.
