Donald Thomas begins his eigthth year at Maryland with the responsibility of coaching the hurdle and high jump events. In addition, he served as the recruiting coordinator for the team.
Thomas came to Maryland from Erie Community College, where he assisted in the planning and organization of the track and cross country teams. As an assistant coach at ECC, Thomas helped guide the teams to great success. The men's indoor and outdoor track and field teams won the 1990-93 NJCAA Region 3 Championships, while the women won the NJCAA Region 3 Championship in 1995. During his tenure at ECC, Thomas oversaw five NJCAA Track All-Americans and two NJCAA Cross Country All-Americans.
Thomas earned his associate degree in Recreation Leadership from Erie Community College.
