As a Junior (2002): Led the Terps two times in 2002...took third place at the Appalachian State Invitational...ran a season-best time of 25:27.85 at the Navy Invitational on Sept. 14, finishing 11th...led the Terps at the Maryland Invitational, taking fourth place with a 25:45...time at the Maryland Invitational was two minutes faster than in 2001...paced the Terps at the NCAA Regionals, running a 31:57.2 in the 10k that was one minute faster than in 2001.
As a Sophomore (2001): Was the fastest runner for Maryland in the first three meets of the season... finished eighth place at the Navy Invitational on Sept. 8 with a time of 25:53.30...earned ninth place at the ACC Preview on Sept. 29 with a time of 26:14...at the Paul Short Invitational on Oct. 6, lowered his 2000 time of 26:08.9 to a time of 25:47.53...was the Terps' best finisher at the NCAA Mid- Atlantic regional meet, posting a time of 32:57.49...finished the Alabama Outdoor Relays with a 31:28 in the 10k.
Before Maryland: Won varsity letters in cross country, track and basketball at River Hill High School in Clarksville, Md....named the captain and MVP of his cross country and track teams in 1997, 1998 and 1999...was selected to the All-County team three times and was selected to the all-metro team in 1998... won the county and regional championships four times.
