2006 OUTDOOR TRACK - Placed ninth at the ACC Championships with a season-best pole vault of 15-5... Tied for seventh place at the Onesty/Abramson Invitational, where he had a vault of 15-3... Had a third-place finish at the Terrapin Invitational with a mark of 15-0.25.

2006 INDOOR TRACK - Placed first at the UMES Lid Lifter with a season-best mark of 15-0... Had a vault of 14-9 at the Penn State National Open (tied for eighth) and the Virginia Tech Invitational (tied for 12th).

2005 OUTDOOR TRACK - Season-best came with 14-3.25 effort to tie for seventh at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational.

2005 INDOOR TRACK - Did not compete.

2004 OUTDOOR TRACK - Competed in the pole vault and javelin throw... had an outdoor season-best of 14-5.25 in the pole vault at both the Tar Heel Opener (finished eighth) and Patriot Invitational (finished second)... personal and team season-best javelin throw of 131-11 came at the JMU Invitational, where he finished seventh overall.

2004 INDOOR TRACK - Took first in the pole vault at both the Delaware Invitational (14-2.75) and the Patriot Games (14-6)... season-best mark of 14-9 came at the Armory Collegiate, where he finished in a tie for eighth place.

BEFORE MARYLAND - A four-year letterwinner at Severna Park High School... indoor County, outdoor County and 4A/3A state champion in the pole vault... team captain... 2003 Baltimore Sun All-Metro selection... second-place finisher in both indoor 4A/3A states and regionals in 2002... indoor 4A/3A Regional champion and a third-place finisher in the state competition... second-place finisher in outdoor 4A Regional and fifth-place finisher in outdoor 4A States... finished second (2001) and third (2000) at the USATF Junior Olympics Region III competition... member of the Severna Park Spirit Football Club soccer team, finishing among the team's top two in goals and assists in 2001 and 2002... team was 3A Regional and State champions in 2001... member of soccer Olympic Development Program in 2002.

PERSONAL - Son of Patricia and Arnold Grubel... three sisters, Eileen, Elizabeth and Alexis... father Arnold played baseball at American University.
