BOSTON, Mass. - Maryland graduate student Greg Kelsey finished eighth individually and earned All-ACC status Saturday to lead Terrapin finishes at the Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country Championships hosted by Boston College.

Kelsey finished the 8-kilometer course in 23:50, earning the all-league honor that comes with a finish in the top 14. The top-10 finish was Kelsey's third of the season and he was one of only nine runners to cover the course under 24 minutes.

He was followed to the line by fellow grad student Dan McDevitt, who was 49th in 25:11. Freshman Cory Puffett also scored for the Terrapins (59th, 25:31.3), as did freshman Sean O'Leary (82nd, 26:09.6) and sophomore Brian Faherty (86th, 26:16.8).

Florida State won the men's team title with 43 points, putting all five of its scorers in the top 13. NC State was second with 81 points, with North Carolina third with 84.

As a team, the Maryland men placed eighth, finishing just two points behind Virginia Tech. Maryland had 244 points.

Virginia runners finished 1-2 individually, with senior Emil Heineking defending his individual title by running 23:40.1, just edging teammate Ryan Collins by 0.4 seconds.

On the women's side, was paced by sophomore Julie Fricke, who was 54th overall. The Terrapins were 10th in the team standings on the women's side.
