GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland's Alex Lundy was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week while Wake Forest's Allie Kieffer earned the ACC Women's Performer of the Week honors.
Lundy earned ACC Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week after capturing individual honors at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational in Emmitsburg, Md. The Littleton, Ohio, sophomore covered the 5-kilometer distance in 16:11.6, edging Nick Ryan of American by less than a second. As a team, Maryland finished 3-2 in the dual meet scoring among the six teams that participated.
Kieffer earned ACC Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week after capturing both the pairings race and the individual two-leg combined time at the Wake Forest Relays. The West Islip, N.Y., junior teamed with Merry Placer to win the relay with a total time of 35:40. In addition, Kieffer was the only student-athlete of 60 runners who completed both of her legs under the nine-minute mark (8:45 and 8:56, respectively).
