4 x 100 and 4 x 400 Women's Relay Teams Qualify for ECAC Championships

Charlottesville, Va. - Both the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 women's relay teams placed second and qualified for the ECAC Championships at the Onesty/Abramson Invitational at the University of Virginia yesterday.

The 4 x 100 team of Chanel Williams, Michelle Fedrick, Crystal Bardge and Christina Smith posted a time of 46.21, while the foursome of Fedrick, Bardge, Williams and Tolulope Olugbemi had a time of 3:47.97 in the 4 x 400 event.

The Terps also sent two athletes to the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University, where Meghan Braffet met the ECAC standard in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:59.73. The mark was also a season-best time for the Terrapins.

At the Onesty/Abramson Invitational, Adam Durham posted an IC4A-qualifying time in the 400-meter hurdles, by placing third with a time of 53.55.

Fedrick also posted an individual ECAC-qualifying time for the Terps when she placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 24.67. Teammate Heidi Paul also placed in the event, running a 25.14.

In the men's high jump, David Edwards-Brennan tied his season-best mark of 6-08.75 and placed second. The senior had previously qualified for the IC4A Championships at the Shamrock Invitational.

Next week, the Terrapins will look to post strong finishes at the ACC Outdoor Championships hosted by Georgia Tech. The meet kicks off on Thursday with the men's and women's hammer. Log on to for live results and for roundups and complete results throughout the weekend.
