Sprint Medley Record Falls at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The University of Maryland women's sprint medley relay team set a school record with its 10th-place finish Friday at the prestigious Penn Relays being held this weekend at Franklin Field.

Kierra Foster, Natasha Emmanuel, Renee Clarke and Danielle Siebert finished third in their heat and 10th overall in the championship flight with a time of 3:55.37. The time was just under the school record of 3:55.62 set in 1997.

Also Friday, Maryland freshman Dominic Berger finished sixth in his heat of the men's 110-meter hurdles with a mark of 14.18, while the Maryland women's 4x100 relay team was third in its heat at 41.60, just missing their season-best.

The Penn Relays conclude with a full day of events on Saturday.
