Meghan Braffet and Katie Purcell both hit NCAA provisional marks to lead University of Maryland performances at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational indoor track and field meet yesterday.
Braffet and Purcell placed third and fifth respectively in the 5,000 meters. Braffet's time of 16:32.95 beat her previous season-best by almost 16 seconds. Purcell followed with a time of 16:40.64.
On the men's side, Dominic Berger placed second in the 60-meter hurdles, which took place at Madison Square Garden. Berger, who has already hit the IC4A qualifying mark and NCAA provisional mark, ran a 7.84.
