Candyce DeLoatch Advances to NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Junior Candyce DeLoatch (Pittsgrove, N.J.), who has lowered the Maryland school record in the 400 meters on multiple occasions this season, has been selected to participate in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Boise, Idaho June 2-5.

DeLoatch, who did not meet the NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 52,20, was nonetheless selected to the field of 24 based on her provisional qualifying mark of 53.16, set May 23. That mark, recorded at the ECAC Championships last week, is a school record.

The women's 400 semifinals are slated for Thursday, June 3. The finals are scheduled for Saturday, June 5.

DeLoatch earned indoor All-America honors earlier this season, also in the 400 meters.
