Berger Second In Heat At Penn Relays

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - As the 113th Penn Relays continued on Friday, University of Maryland track and field had several individuals compete in their respective events at Franklin Field.

Junior Dominic Berger, the 2007 Atlantic Coast Conference champion in the 110-meter hurdles, was a highlight for the Terrapins. Berger placed second in the first heat of the men's 110-meter hurdles behind Florida State's Drew Brunson. Berger ran an NCAA Regional-qualifying time of 13.94 in the event.

In the men's high jump, sophomore David Edwards-Brennan finished fifth with a mark of 6-6.75. Edwards-Brennan took the bronze medal in this event last weekend at the 2007 Outdoor ACC Championships.

Freshman Greg Kelsey, sophomore Anthony Walker, freshman Tommy Friscia, and sophomore Josh Davis ran the distance medley for the Terps. The squad finished in 18th place with a time of 10:12.57.

Competition at the Penn Relays will resume Saturday and conclude this evening.
