BLACKSBURG, Va. - Matt Ambrus won the men's 5,000-meter run in 14:58.25 to lead University of Maryland performers Friday at the Virginia Tech Indoor Invitational held at the Rector Fieldhouse.
Ambrus, a Terrapin senior, won the event by 11 seconds over Kyle MacKenzie of East Carolina. His effort led a strong day by the Maryland men, who placed three athletes in Saturday sprint and hurdle finals, and two others who earned top-five finishes in their event.
