#24 Terps Finish Season at Regionals

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Kesley Cofsky and Katy Dodds led the Terps as the No. 24 Maryland gymnastics team placed fourth at the NCAA Regional Championships with a 195.575 Saturday.

This is the Terps' second-highest score in NCAA competition. Maryland posted a 195.850 in 2001 at the Gainesville Regional. This is also Maryland's second-highest finish in NCAA Regionals. The Terps finished third in 1989 and 2001.

"I'm so proud of this team and the season we've had," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "It's been an incredible ride. I thought the team looked great tonight, they were confident and strong and competed with a lot of intensity."

Host and No. 1 Florida won the event with a 198.400, while tied-No. 12 Minnesota earned second with a 197.100. No. 12 Auburn took third with a 196.700.

The Terps started the evening on floor, where junior Katy Dodds posted a team-high 9.875. Senior Ally Krikorian and junior Ebony Walters earned 9.750s as Maryland took a 48.750 from the event.

Maryland posted its best event score of the night on vault. Dodds led the Terps again with a 9.900, while Krikorian posted a 9.850. The Terps earned a 49.050 on the apparatus.

Senior Kesley Cofsky led Maryland on uneven bars while tying a personal-best with a 9.850. Sophomore Stephanie Giameo earned a 9.800 while junior Karen Tang garnered a 9.775. The team left the event with a 48.925.

Maryland finished the night on balance beam. Cofsky paced the Terps again with a 9.850 and Walters earned a 9.800. Giameo and Krikorian each posted 9.750s.

Cofsky finished the all-around with a 39.175 and Giameo earned a 38.975.
