COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 25 University of Maryland women's gymnastics team remained ranked despite a slim loss to defending East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) champion West Virginia Sunday night.
Individually, senior Lisa Mealey (Bensalem, Pa.) remains in the national top-20 for the all-around, moving up from the No. 15 spot to No. 12. Mealey is also No. 7 for the uneven bars. Senior Alyssa Mealey (Bensalem, Pa.) also remained in the top-20 for the uneven bars this week at No. 19
Maryland fell to No. 4 in the southeast region and No. 2 in the EAGL, but remains No. 1 in the conference on the uneven bars. Lisa Mealey is also No. 4 in the all-around in the region for the all-around and No. 2 on the uneven bars for the second consecutive week. Mealey is No. 1 in the EAGL for the all-around.
Maryland's next meet is Wednesday, Feb. 13 against the George Washington Colonials. The meet will be held at the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, D.C. beginning at 7 p.m.
