The Maryland Gymnastics team is ranked No. 1 in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Pre-Season Poll.
Coaches from each of the eight schools in the EAGL submitted ranking projections, which were used to compile the poll.
After winning the 2013 EAGL regular season, Maryland received five first-place votes, ahead of N.C. State, which won the 2013 EAGL Championships and received three first-place votes. Rounding out the poll is North Carolina and Pittsburgh tied for third, New Hampshire ranked fifth, George Washington ranked sixth, Rutgers ranked seventh and Towson ranked eighth.
This is the Terps’ last season in the EAGL, as they will move to the Big Ten next season.
The Terps start the regular season Friday Jan. 10 at Central Michigan. The first home meet of the season is Friday Jan. 17 vs. West Virginia.
